Overview

Celebrate 250 years of the United States Marine Corps the way Marines were meant to β€” behind the gun.
The ADS 250th Marine Corps Birthday Shoot honors the legacy of Marine marksmanship and discipline with a full-day event built around GWOT-era Rifle and Pistol Qualifications, a Battle Sight Zero (BZO), and LFAM Battle-Buddy drills.

PROCEEDS WILL BE USED TO PURCHASE TOYS for the USMC Reserve TOYS FOR TOTS Program.

This is a professionally-run range day that mirrors the pace, cadence, and structure of a true USMC range.
Open to Marines, veterans, and civilians who want to experience how the Corps runs a rifle range β€” safely, efficiently, and with purpose.

Event Schedule

0600 – 0700 β€” Check-In & Range Safety Brief (mandatory)
Weapons cleared, gear inspected, lanes assigned.

0700 – 0800 β€” Battle Sight Zero (BZO)
Confirm optic or iron sight zero and understand how BZO affects your shots from 100-500 yards.

0800 – 0900 β€” Table 1 Pre-Qualification
Review firing positions, reloads, and range commands.

0900 – 1000 β€” Table 1 Qualification
Run the full GWOT-era USMC Rifle Qualification under time and score.
Simulated 200 yards, 300 yards, 500 yards. standing, kneeling, and or prove.

1000 – 1100 β€” Table 2 Pre-Qualification
Drills on target transitions, controlled pairs, and movement prep.

1100 – 1200 β€” Table 2 Qualification
Complete the USMC Rifle Table 2 course of fire. 100 yards and closer engagement. Tactical drills, and running and gunning.

1200 – 1300 β€” USMC-Style Chow (Lunch Break)
Hot meal served field-style. Rifles grounded, eating with veterans, civilians, and friends.

1300 – 1400 β€” Pistol Pre-Qualification
Presentation from holster, reloads, ready positions, and dry-to-live transitions.

1400 – 1500 β€” Pistol Qualification
Full USMC Pistol Qualification Course, timed and scored.

1500 – 1600 β€” LFAM Battle-Buddy Drills
Paired live-fire movement, communication, and team coordination.
Event concludes with a range debrief and group photo celebrating 250 years of the Corps.

Ammo Requirements

  • Rifle: 350 rounds of 5.56

  • Pistol: 150 rounds
    (Bring additional ammo if you plan to re-run qualifications or extra drills.)

Required Gear

  • Rifle: Serviceable AR 15 style rifle w/ optic or iron sights, sling, 3+ magazines

  • Pistol: Reliable semi-auto pistol, Kydex holster, 3+ magazines

  • Protection: Eye & electronic ear protection (mandatory)

  • Other: Hydration, sun protection, IFAK, range bag, PMA (Positive Mental Attitude)

THE EVENT IS CELEBRATING THE MARINE CORPS, EVERYONE IS INVITED.

You don’t need to be a Marine to train like one.
Civilians are welcome to join and experience how a USMC rifle range is structured β€” from commands to firing cadence to qualification scoring.
You’ll gain a genuine appreciation for the Marine way of shooting and the discipline behind it.
